What is the advice to our patients and the public?

Following the latest government advice, if you have a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, please stay at home and self-isolate for the recommended number of days regardless of your travel history. Follow latest advice on the NHS website about how to carry out effective self-isolation for you and your family www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19. If you develop serious symptoms that you cannot manage at home you should use NHS 111 online

who will give advice and arrange treatment if necessary.

To reduce the spread of Covid 19 we are offering an increased number of telephone consultations so that you do not need to visit the surgery. Please call 01594 820820 to book a telephone appointment.

Following telephone triage you may be invited to come to the surgery for a face-to-face appointment. Additional precautionary measures may be in place to protect you and the staff, such as masks, gloves and aprons. You may be asked to wait in your car until the clinician is ready to see you.

Some non-urgent appointments will need to be postponed.

For your convenience and to reduce the spread of Covid19, you can now request your repeat prescriptions by sending an email to: glccg.fhc.prescriptions@nhs.net

Please make sure that you include:

  1.    Your full name
  2.    Your date of birth
  3.    Details of the items required (including strengths)
  4.    We will send your prescription directly to the pharmacy, please advise which pharmacy you will use (Co-op Cinderford, Boots Cinderford, Drybrook Pharmacy or another).
  5.    If you are a dispensing patient, please indicate if you want to collect your medication from Cinderford or Ruardean surgeries

Please note that it is currently taking up to 3 days to process all requests due to high demand
