Repeat prescriptions are held on computer and a doctor will have specified how many repeats may be issued before you need to be seen by a doctor for review.
Repeats may be ordered by:
- Post – by enclosing a stamped addressed envelope
- In person at reception or dispensary
- By telephone on (01594) 820820 and selecting option 2 for repeat prescriptions.
Paper Prescriptions can be collected from reception or with prior notice, already dispensed from the Cinderford chemist of your choice or Drybrook Chemist.
Electronic Prescriptions can be sent to a Pharmacy of your choice anywhere in the country where they offer the Electronic Prescription Service.
Find out more about the Electronic Prescription Service.
3 working days notice is required for the issue of repeat prescriptions if you collect your prescription from the practice. We recommend waiting slightly longer than this if collecting a prescription already dispensed from your pharmacy of choice.
Please note: Our dispensers deal with patient enquiries face-to-face and also over the telephone. If they are busy dealing with a queue of patients in surgery they may not be able to pick up an incoming call.
You may be held in the telephone queue for quite a while, or may need to call a few times to make contact. Many local practices no longer offer telephone ordering as an option.
As a dispensing practice, our telephone opening lines are limited as our dispensers need crucial uninterrupted time for putting up medication ready for collection, errors could prove fatal.
Our receptionists are not dispensary trained and therefore do not have sufficient medication knowledge to answer queries of this nature.
Please remember you can also order repeat prescriptions online.
